2009 SU Update: Universiade in the Clouds

12 May 2009

In celebration of Europe Day and in promotion of this year’s biggest sports event, the 2009 Summer Universiade, an air show was held at the airport in Lisicji Jarak.
The parachutist Boris Adamaov, carrying the Universiade flag jumped from 2,200 m.

This was the first joint event of company “Universiade Belgrade 2009” and club “Galeb” in promoting this year’s biggest sports event in Serbia.

‘The Universiade flag descended from the height of over 2,000 m at the speed of 216 km/h and had 34 seconds of free fall. I am honored to be part of the 25th Summer Universiade’, said parachutist Boris Andonov after his jump.

The air show in Lisicji Jarak was attended by the Universiade volunteers.

‘In a certain way, we too are the volunteers’, said the parachutist Dimitrije Dabic, who has also jumped today. ‘We were very glad to take part in this event, in the same way we take part in every event that has promotion of sport as its goal’, said Dabic.
