2009 SU Update: Working Visit – Day 1

On Monday May 11th, 2009, the Director of the Summer Universiade, Marc VANDENPLAS, as well as the Director of Protocol, Kole GJELOSHAJ, together with the Coordinator of Medal Awarding Ceremonies, Nicole MANGELSCHOTS travelled to Serbia for a three day meeting with the Organizing Committee of the Universiade in Belgrade.

Marc VANDENPLAS held meetings with Mr. Dejan Susovic, Executive Director UB 2009 on the general administration of the event. The main points of discussion on the agenda included transportation, accreditation and the sport venues. This meeting was followed by a meeting with the Sports Department and the Publication Department.

A meeting was organized with the Protocol Department of the OC, Jelena PIFAT Manager, Vladimir and Aleksander ERROR. The purpose was to review all practical details of the ceremonies and to make the agenda for May 12th. On May 12th, Nicole MANGELSCHOTS will visit all sites to determine the procedure of the ceremonies for each sport. The OC explained that from 230 women, the first round of selection of hostesses will be made by the Volunteer Department starting on May 24th. The definite choice of the hostesses for the finals will reach 180 hostesses.
