At the occasion of the seminar in Shenzhen organized by FISU for the Organizing Committee of the 2011 Summer Universiade, the FISU Director of the World University Championships Mr. Laurent Briel took advantage of this opportunity to visit the venues which will be used for the 2010 World University Archery Championship, which will also be hosted in Shenzhen. This championship will be one of the test events for the Universiade which features archery as one of the many optional sports.
Prior to the venue visit, Mr. Briel received an update by the OC of the WUC preparations. Mr. Briel outlined the duties of the OC and the different stages of preparation the OC has to follow. Mr. Briel also reminded the OC members of the collaboration possibilities between FISU and the OC.
After the meeting Mr. Briel visited the facilities which will be available for the Championship: the sport venue and the accommodation for the student-athletes who will be lodged in the Silver Lake complex.
