Rustam Minnikhanov receives the banner from Mintimer Shaimiev
In Kazan, host city of the 2013 Summer Universiade, the inauguration ceremony of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took place today March 25th.
The First President of Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev, Plenipotentiary of Russian President in Volga Federal District Grigory Rapota, First Vice-speaker of Russian State Duma Oleg Morozov, General-Secretary of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Mr Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu and delegations from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Turkey and Iran attended the ceremony. By and large about 800 guests attended the event.
Chairman of RT State Council Farit Mukhametshin opened the ceremony. He reminded that on February, 4th, 2010 at the 8th session of RT State Council deputies of state parliament delegated authorities of the President of Republic Tatarstan to Rustam Minnikhanov.
Earlier, the candidate of RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov was considered by the party “United Russia” and President of Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.
First President of Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev handed over the standard of Presidential Flag of Tatarstan edged with a fringe of gold color and emblem of the Republic to Rustam Minnikhanov.
Putting his hands on Constitution, Rustam Minnikhanov has been sworn in.
Mr. Minnikhanov played a substantial role as Prime Minister of Tatarstan to bring the Universiade to Kazan. These strong ties between FISU and the highest authorities in Kazan will foster the Universiade in 2013.
