2010 WUC Boxing Update: Free Visa for Participating Countries

Ulaanbaatar – The 4th World University Boxing Championship’s Organizing Committee from Mongolia is working very well. On its preparation work according to the plan approved by Lambaa S, President of this OC WUBC, Member of Parliament and Minister for Health.

The Organizing Committee has been pretty busy with its preparations, contacting over 153 countries to send them the Championships invitation, forms and updates and distributing the said documents to 20 Foreign Embassies in Mongolia and via the 28 Mongolian embassies worldwide. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will grant free visa to all participating delegations in the WUC Boxing which will hosted in Ulaanbaatar from October 4th to 10th, 2010.

The OC predicts that some 300 boxers from 40 countries will participate in this Championship and so far, the OC has received entry forms from 24 countries, i.e. Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Germany, Belarus, South Africa, Costa Rica, France, China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Ukraine, Moldova, Czech, Estonia, India and the Netherlands.

Some countries already have sent the OC their Quantitative entries such as Kazakhstan with 18 participants, Ukraine and Turkey 17, Korea 11, Mongolia 16, France 7, Estonia 4.

Deadline for the entry forms is September 4th, 2010.

The OC, together with the Minister of Education, Culture and Science and the Mongolian Students Federation will select 80 volunteers from 10 universities.

The Mongolian NUSF held its 2010 National University Boxing Championship held from April 28th to May 1st. The winners of these Nationals will be participating in the WUC. Without doubt, the host country can count on some very talented student-boxers, such as E. Badaruugan (54kg), student of the State University Mongolia and 2008 Olympic Champion and Mr. P. Serdamba (48kg), student of the Police Academy and Silver Medallist at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and 2009 World Champion in Torino, Italy.
