IZMIR – 2011 WU General Coordinator Bekir Korkmaz and his colleagues, met with Izmir 2005 SU General Coordinator Taha Aksoy to exchange experiences. The meeting which was held in İzmir Halkapınar Sport Hall, was attended by İzmir Youth and Sports Provincial Director Sabri Sadıklar, 2005 Izmir Summer Universiade General Coordinator and Deputy Taha Aksoy and his colleagues, Trabzon 2011 EYOF (European Olympic Youth Games) Coordinator (and FISU CIC member) Nihat Doker, the State Minister Faruk Nafiz Özak’s consultants Murat Kaya and Sevki Akkaya.
Mr. Aksoy talked about the İzmir Summer Universiade and 2011 Erzurum Winter Universiade General Coordinator Bekir Korkmaz gave information about the 7th Progress Report which he presented at the FISU EC meeting in Shenzhen.
After the meeting in Halkapınar Sports Hall, the participants visited the museum of the 2005 İzmir Universiade which exhibits photos,clothes, the torch and large number of Universiade objects.
Universiade General Coordinator Bekir Korkmaz later signed the memory book of the Universiade. ‘’In 2005 İzmir Universiade the record was broken.This was actually the success of Taha Aksoy and his team. As 2011 WU we are getting ready to break another record. We are confident that we will succeed with the power we get from İzmir 2005 SU’’, he said.
