KAZAN – The second and third working sessions of the FISU Technical Chairs were held within the visit of the FISU CT Chairs with the inspection of the venues oriented for: Rhythmic Gymnastics, Tennis, Table Tennis, Diving, Artistic Gymnastics, Athletics and Fencing.
Eiichi Kawatei FISU CT Chair for Tennis joined the inspection of the main Universiade 2013 tennis venue – The Tennis Academy. Joseph Robert Zellweger FISU CT Chair of Rhythmic Gymnastics inspected the Gymnastics centre that is yet under construction. Andrzej Hrehowicz FISU CT Chair of Table Tennis inspected the International Equestrian Center “Kazan”. Donald Leas (USA) – the FISU TC Chair for Diving, Istvan Karascony Karascony (Hungary) – the FISU TC Chair for Artistic Gymnastics, Ilkka Tappani – the FISU TC Chair on Athletics and Julius Kralik– the FISU TC Chair for Fencing also inspected the venues within their specialty.
At the end of both working sessions, the CT Chairs had a meeting where the Chairs coordinated specifications and discussed the tournament venues. FISU CT Chairs were amused that it is the first time in history of their work that the Universiade premises are being inspected three years before the Universiade and already are in a prime condition where half of the venues are already finished and can be used already.
In the frame work of the visit CT Chairs attended the Sabantuy Festival in the Arsk region of the Republic of Tatarstan and experienced the traditional Tatar culture. The CT Chairs also had an excursion around the city of Kazan and saw most of the beautiful city sights including the Kazan Kremlin.
