KAZAN – Recently, the Kazan 2013 Executive Board held a press conference to sum up the results of the FISU delegation’s inspection visit in Kazan.
The press conference was attended by Vladimir Matlashevsky, Deputy Director of the Department of normative and legal groundwork for the state policy of the Ministry of Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Russian Federation; Vladimir Leonov, Director General of the Kazan 2013 Executive Board; Azat Kadyrov, Deputy Director General of the Kazan 2013 Executive Board. On the FISU part the meeting was attended by the Chair of the FISU CTI Stavros Douvis, FISU Director for the Summer Universiade Marc Vandenplas, sports programs manager Michal Buchel and FISU Director for Media and Communications Dejan Susovic.
“The inspection visit program of the FISU CT Chairs has been carried out to the full. All the Universiade venues including the venues under construction and the projects of the venues reconstruction have been inspected. The Committee made a number of constructive comments and recommendations that we’ll definitely take into account before the Games begin”, Director General of the Kazan 2013 Executive Board Vladimir Leonov said in his welcoming speech. He thanked the FISU delegation and the team that worked in cooperation with the CT Chairs for the work done.
For his part Stavros Douvis said he’s grateful to the Russian host for the perfect organization of such an important visit. “We’ve inspected sports venues for 22 sports out of 26. I’m deeply satisfied with the excellent results of your work. I’m sure that the Kazan Universiade will be staged on the highest level”, Stavros Douvis said.
In the framework of the 2013 Universiade preparation on June 7-19 the FISU CT Chairs paid a working visit led by the Chair of FISU CTI Stavros Douvis, FISU Director for the Summer Universiade Marc Vandenplas, sports programs manager Michal Buchel and FISU Director for Media and Communications Dejan Susovic. The aims of the visit were the sports venues inspection, discussion of the sports program preparation and of tournament regulations. The CEOs of the Kazan 2013 Executive Board, officials of the ministries, departments, sports federations of the Russian Federation and Tatarstan had a number of sessions with the FISU delegates on the Games preparation and the venues construction. In the course of the work the participants of the sessions agreed the technical specifications on each sport, number of participants, number of referees and the sports program of the 2013 Summer Universiade.
