NYIREGYHAZA – Today, June 26th, the first Technical Committee Meeting lead by FISU Technical Chair for handball Taborsky Frantisek and OC representative Tompa Andor took place in Nyiregyhaza, Hungary, the city that will host the 20th World University Handball Championship from June 27th to July 4th.
The OC represented a detailed final report regarding the ultimate preparations. Transportation was discussed and the final program approved. The FISU CT Chair was satisfied with all matters. The event will be covered by the local newspapers, TV and radio. The OC is still negotiating to have the finals broadcasted on national television, but the final decision will be taken during the next week.
CIC representative Alan Sharp arrived yesterday very late because of the strike of the Italian airport staff. The other CISCA delegates will arrive today. Accreditation has started and the CT Chair will be making his final inspection round of all competition venues.
The athletes are being accommodated in the newly constructed Hotel Sandra, which is a student campus belonging to the College of Nyiregyhaza.
