2010 WUC Handball Update: Day 4 of Competitions

 

NYIREGYHAZA – On the fourth day of the 20th Men and Women University Handball World Championship both Hungarian teams won again. The men’s team defeated Poland by 14 goals. In this group the Serbian team had an easy game againt the United Arab Emirates. They won by 24 goals. On Friday the Hungarian and the Serbian team play against each other, and the winner is going to be the winner of the group. The winner is going to play in the final on Sunday.

In the other group of the men’s tournament in both games the winner had 38 goals, as a result Ukraine and Czech Republic had an easy win. The Ukraine team had its first win and the Czech Republic is still undefeated after 3 games.

In the women’s championship Romania was leading by 10 goals against Japan, but at the end they only won by one goal. The Hungarian and the Turkish teams won easily. Because the Czech Republic didn’t play today, the Hungarian team is heading the group.

Yesterday, July 1st, the CISCA Delegates had a meeting with the Vice-Chair of Council of the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Mr. Oszkar Sesztak. The FISU Delegates had possibility to talk with Mr. Sesztak about the county structure, university development and sports activities. Mr. Dymalski thanksed the Vice-Chair for the support of the organization of the FISU event, and he stressed that it was already the second time that the FISU World University Championship was organized here. FISU EC member Mr. Dymalski presented Mr. Sesztak with a FISU souvenir for the support of the University Sports Movement. After the official meeting he signed the book of visitors of the county house.
