2010 WUC Baseball Update: Day 1 of Competitions

30 July 2010

TOKYO Host Team Japan added a first victory to its name at the first day of competition of the 5th World University Baseball Championship in Tokyo, Japan. The home team beat Korea 4-0 in Jingu Stadium marking two points in both the 6th and 8th inning. Great joy in front of the 5,000 spectators and a great way to start the tournament on home turf for the 2008 WUBC silver medallist.

2008 WUBC Title Holder Team USA had an easy game against newcomer Sri Lanka beating them 15-0 in five innings.

A tight game between Canada and Chinese Taipei was decided in favor of the Canadians who put a 3-2 on the score board.
