2010 WUC Baseball Update: Day 5 of Competitions

TOKYO Today, August 3rd, the Quarter Finals took place at the 5th World University Baseball Championship in Tokyo, Japan. The day however started with a meeting of the CISCA to draw up the balance so far. All members agreed that the WUC has been a success so far.

 

The following persons attended the meeting:

USA vs. China: 11-0 (7th Inning)

USA was the first to score in the 1st inning and added 3 runs in the 3rd inning including a two run homer of Bradley.  Three run homers by Mahtook plus 5 safe hits collected 7 runs in the 4th inning making total of 11 runs.  Anderson, starting pitcher, and Winkler held China scoreless with 3 safe hits and called the game in the 7th inning.

 

Canada vs. Korea: 4-7

Kim Yong Ho of Korea hit a double to score a run in the 3rd inning, which was overtaken by Canad in the 4th inning by a solo homerun of Welch plus 2 additional runs brought by safe hit of Wallace.  Korea came back again with 3 runs including a run walked-in.  Second-stream Lim Chi Young pitched strong innings to bring victory for Korea.
