2010 WUC Bridge Update: Day 5 of Competitions

KAOSHIUNG – At the end of the fifth day of play, Poland (they had 69 on the day) still secured their lead (237 VPs) and became stronger and stronger. By the defeats of USA B with a blitz (21- 9 VPs) in the 9th round, and a 23-7 defeat of China A, they finally devastate China B with a 25-0 blitz. Following was France (205 VPs) with earning 51 VPs. Here the third place USA A and the forth place Germany A who played an extremely close matches should be observed since there should be two critical rounds for them. Israel (189) China A (180) USA B (168) still have some chances and any possibility might happen.

 

 

When focus on the game results, you might like to know a particular work on dealing. The supervisor, David CHU, together with Chu-Kai LIU and Dong-Jian LIN who are the volunteers of National Sun Yat-sen University took charge of the dealing work and used the “dealing machine” to duplicate each deck of cards which is conducted by computer program. It really takes time and they can finish 120 decks in one hour. The total dealing used in this event is 3,012 (14×16×13+100).
