SANGJU – The third day of the World University Equestrian Championship in Sangju, Korea was entirely devoted to Jumping. The day started very early with the preparation of the horses, tracking the course and then the presentation of the horses. Jumping is a spectacular competition which the audience very much enjoyed.
The day program has been modified to meet the demands of live broadcasting on KBS Television. That is why the International Technical Committee met to see if round 3, which was originally scheduled for November 2nd, could be moved to November 1st. After having obtained the agreement of the CTI, the organizers and representatives of the FEI put everything in place as quickly as possible in order to stage the entire 3rd round before sunset. To complicate matters, in addition to the 3rd round, we had five exceptional athletes who completed the most perfect parcours and who were eligible for nomination to the 3rd round. In these circumstances it was imperative to convene a second technical meeting and all committee members found a solution agreeable for all the intervening parties.
The audience again responded supporting the athletes who qualified for the second round. The semi-finals will take place on November 2nd.
