ERZURUM – A successful curling test event for the 2011 Winter Universiade came to an end in Erzurum, Turkey. Athletes from six countries took part in the inaugural international curling competition for Turkey which took place from October 28th to 31st and was followed by a great number of sport enthusiasts.
Czech Republic ended first, Latvia second and Scotland became third. Switzerland fourth and Poland was fifth. Turkey, which participated with three teams, ended last.
At the awarding ceremony which was held after the competion Turkish Ice Skating Federation President Fahrettin Kandemir, FISU Technical Chair for Curling Jeanette Johnston, Provincial Director of Youth and Sport Fatih Çintimar and other officials presented the medals.
