BRIVE-LA-GAILLARDE – The second meeting of the Organizing Committee of the 5th World University Rugby 7 Championship (10-13 July 2012), was held on November 24th at Brive-la-Gaillarde (Corrèze), in the presence of Alain Pamboutzoglou, Deputy-Mayor of Brive for Sport; Roger Fite Chairman of Territorial Rugby; Jean-François Bourg, Director of Sports City of Brive; Jean-Michel Martinet, Regional Directorate of Youth and Sports; Monique Paulou, Director National FFSU; Vincent Rognon, Deputy National Director FFSU; Damin Bardot, Director Communications & Partnership FFSU and Laurent Briel, FISU Director World Championships.
The morning was devoted to visiting the venue that will host the event: Amedee Domenech Stadium (15,000 seats) in which operates the CA Brive-Corrèze, one of the 14 major Rugby clubsin France and Espace Derichebourg (2,250m²), which will host the catering and the various receptions during the event.
The visit was followed by a lunch and a meeting at the Rugby Territorial Committee, with representatives of the French University Sports Federation of CRSU of Limoges, the City of Brive and DRDJS. Several themes were discussed: budget, lodging, meals, transportation, partnerships and website.
