2011 WU Update: Volunteer Selection in Full Swing

ERZURUM – The Volunteer Committee began interviews for the selection of volunteers. So far 1,500 people have applied for the interviews. Candidates who apply from outside the city will be interviewed online via internet.

2,000 SMS Messages Sent

The Volunteer Committee has sent an invitation message via SMS to those who have applied through the official website of the organization. Interviews will continue for a week. 300 volunteers will be chosen from outside the city.

Questionnaire & Interview

Volunteer Director Nurinisa Esenbuğa stressed that selections are done very carefully. Candidates receive a questionnaire which consists of 40 questions. ’’There are more applications than we expected. We are trying to get a better idea of the candidates with the questionnaire we have prepared. We are testing their education status, desires to become volunteers, communication skills, organizational experience and knowledge of foreign languages. Then a face-to-face interview is conducted. Candidates who complete all tests with success are then assigned to the committees they want to work for.’’
