28 December 2010

ERZURUM After a successful curling test event from October 28th to 31st for the 2011 Erzurum Winter Universiade, 6 male teams and 5 female teams from 5 Turkish universities (Ataturk University, Kocaeli University, Istanbul University, Istanbul Technology University, Ankara Technology University and Ordagu University) took part in the National University’s First Winter Games in the curling venue.

The competition manager Mr. Celal Cüneyt İŞGÖR as well as the venue manager Mr. Suat YILMAZ (TUR) were both present and smoothly managed this important national event. More importantly, two main leading persons Macit Toksoy (Secretary General) and Yesim Muderrisoglu (Secretary General) as well as the Director of Marketing & Sponsorship Department Murat Sancar from the Erzurum Organizing Committee were also all present with Jiho KIM (FISU Sport Assistant). They all carefully checked and discussed all the facilities and key issues with the competition and venue manager to complete their final preparation. Macit Toksoy (Secretary General), Yesim Muderrisoglu (Secretary General) firstly inspected all the offices (VIP office, umpire room, FISU office, Meeting office, Medical room etc.) then continued to discuss with two managers regarding the accreditation access, catering, security etc.

The venue manager Mr. Suat YILMAZ (TUR) was very convinced that this national competition would be vital and a good opportunity to check all necessary matters one more time. He also mentioned that they just need to go one more step to the 2011 Erzurum Winter Universiade after installing the 10 small screens for 5 curling sheets and one big screen by Swiss Timing.
