2011 WU Update – Day 2 – Curling

Today, January 28th, was the first day of competition for the curlers in the brand new curling arena. In the women’s competition, Poland beat Turkey 8-3. China narrowly curled to a victory against Germany while Great Britain lost the Czech Republic 6-7. More Asian victories as the Japanese girls beat Canada 6-4 and the Koreans won from Russia 5-4.

In the Women’s second session today, Germany lost from Japan 7-8, while Russia beat China 8-6. Host country Turkey lost from the Czechs with 1-9. Korea took the victory over Poland with 10-4 on the scoreboard and Great Britain beat Canada 9-5.

In the men’s competition, Canada beat Great Britain 7-4. Korea won against Norway 7-5 while the Czech beat host Turkey 9-2. Switzerland easily beat USA 12-6, while Sweden controlled their game against next host Slovenia beating them 12-0.
