2011 WU Update – Day3 – Curling

ERZURUM Two close games in the men’s curling competitions this morning with Great Britain narrowly beating the Czech Team with a 6-5 score and curling powerhouse Switzerland beating Team Canada 7-6. Rather easy walkovers for Korea and Norway as the Koreans beat Team USA 11-2 while Norway kept the distance with newcomer Slovenia putting a 14-2 on the scoreboard. Sweden had no trouble gaining a big lead on host Turkey, beating the Turks 10-2.

In the Round Robin Session 3 Canada lost from the Czech Republic 4-7, while Korea beat Sweden 9-4. Great Britain beat Slovenia 10-3, while the USA narrowly beat Norway 6-5. Finally Switzerland beat Turkey 8-2.

 

 

In the women’s competition round robin session 3, Russia beat Germany 11-3. Team Canada narrowly beat the Czechs 7-6. Great Britain had an easy game against Poland beating them 9-2. The Asian clash between Japan and Korea was won by the latter putting a 9-5 on the scoreboard. China beat Turkey 13-1.
