2011 WU Update – Day 6 – Curling

ERZURUM – Today, February 1^st, the round robin session 7 and 8 started.

In the women’s competition Canada lost from Germany 4-8, while Great Britain beat China 5-4. The Koreans overpowered the Czechs, beating them 11-5 and Russia gained a victory over Poland putting a 7-5 on the scoreboard. 

In the round robin session 8, China narrowly beat Team Czech Republic 6-5. Canada and Russia had a tight game with the latter being victorious 3-4. Japan won narrowly from Poland 6-5, while Great Britain had no problem with Germany putting a 9-2 on the scoreboard. Korea marched over Turkey 11-3.

In the men’s competition round robin 7, Great Britain beat Korea 10-8 while Turkey lost 3-7 from Norway. The North American clash was won by Canada beating the USA 6-5. Switzerland overwhelmed Slovenia 13-2 while Sweden lost from the Czechs 2-7.
