Double Gold for Ukraine

ERZURUM – February 1st- It’s the second Winter Universiade for Artem Pryma. Indeed, this Ukrainian biathlete competed in Harbin two years ago and was ranked 8th in the pursuit event. This time it was a bit different. For the sprint event held in Kandili this morning Artem was totally unbeatable. No shooting mistake and a powerful cross country race mad him the winner. His teammate Sergii Semenov finished second in front of Evgeniy Garanichev from Russia.

In the women’s event, Vita Semernko, also from Ukraine secured her gold medal thanks to her speed in cross country (she made two mistakes in shooting). Evgeniya Sedova (RUS) and Emilia Yordanova completed this podium. (Y. Dufour, FISU Editor)
