2011 WU Update – Day 8 – Alpine Skiing: GS

Jennifer Vanwagner gained the Gold

ERZURUM – February 3rd- The Alpine Skiing competition continued today in Konakli with the Women’s Giant Slalom. Despite the very low temperature, the sun was shinning and the snow conditions were excellent. 83 competitors were registered for this event and the level was quite high. We must underline that participation level at the Alpine skiing competition is really high here in Erzurum.

US Skier Jennifer Vanwagner was the fastest on the slope today followed by Lucia Mazzoti from Italy and Karolina Chrapek.

Jennifer is a well known skier in the USA and was part of the US Junior Team.

The Competition will continue tomorrow with the Men’s Giant Slalom where we will have 108 competitors.
