2013 SU Update: Universiade Village Residents choose Valentine’s Day Couple

KAZAN – The Universiade Village residents celebrated St Valentine’s Day and choose the best Valentine’s Day couple of the student campus.

There were 12 couples that represented the residence halls of the Universiade Village. The contest gathered over one hundred spectators.

Couples who entered the contest competed in a series of challenges, and a panel of judges was to choose the winning couple. Within two and half hour contest the couples demonstrated their skills, talents and love for each other.

The contest was so tough that there were two couples that finished the contest with an equal number of points. Only the additional challenge decided the winning couple. The panel of judges gave the audience the right to choose the best couple. The spectators voted for residence hall 8 representatives Rifat Khakimov and Liliya Mirzagitova.

Valentine of the day and student of the Chemistry Department of Kazan Federal University Rifat Khakimov stated that they had taken the contest seriously and had been preparing for it for a few days.

His soulmate Liliya Mirzagitova thanked the contest organizers and shared her emotions about their victory: “I’m so happy that such events are held for us at the Universiade Village. It’s so much fun.”
