2013 SU Update: Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate and Kazan State University of Architecture & Engineering sign Cooperation Agreement

KAZAN – A cooperation agreement between the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate and Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering was signed solemnly on Thursday, February 17th.

The agreement was signed by Director General of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate Vladimir Leonov and Rector of Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering Rashit Nizamov.

The cooperation implies interaction in implementation of the Kazan 2013 volunteer program, including involvement of the Institute’s students and personnel in volunteering at events relating to the preparation and delivery of the 2013 Summer Universiade.

In his welcome speech Rashit Nizamov stated that each citizen of the city and of the Republic of Tatarstan ought to make a strong contribution to preparation of the 2013 World University Summer Games. “We will become the driving force that will enable Russia and Tatarstan to show its abilities during the 2013 Summer Universiade”, the Rector expressed his hope.

For his part, Vladimir Leonov indicated that thanks to the 2013 Summer Universiade the University had obtained the Tezuche Sports Complex where students could train and improve their health. “You are the major university that both Tatarstan and Russia look upon as an example. We sign such agreements so that we could work as one team to deliver the best World Summer Universiade ever,” he said.

Within the solemn signing event the officials visited the Tezuche Sports Complex where Rector Rashit Nizamov told about the University’s sports achievements. Besides, the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate attended the Exhibition of Scientific and Innovation Projects developed by the University’s scientists and visited with the headquarters of the Student Construction Team 2013 that was founded in July 2009 by the first Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev’s order.

It stands to mention that Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering became the fifth to sign the cooperation agreement with the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate. The similar agreements were reached with Kazan State Medical University, Tupolev Kazan State Technical University, Kazan State Technological University and Institute of Economics, Management and Law.
