SOCHI – The Kazan 2013 presentation gathered volunteers from Saint-Petersburg, Tomsk, Krasnodar and Sochi. The event’s purpose was to introduce students that arrived to volunteer for the Alpine Ski European Cup 2011 to the history, volunteers training, mission of the Summer Universiade and procedure of their delivery.
During the presentation the Kazan volunteers told about the history and development of university sports and traditions of holding the Universiades and read a report on preparation progress of the World University Summer Games in Kazan, construction of sports venues and volunteers training. Volunteer request procedure aroused intense interest of attending volunteers.
According to Kazan volunteer Riat Ismagilov, official volunteer registration will be launched in October 2011 but even today all comers are welcome to contact the Volunteers Department of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate and volunteer for sporting events in Kazan.
The audience was also interested in events Kazan 2013 volunteers take part in and terms of their training. “At the moment Kazan volunteers take part in not only large sporting events within the city but also in socially significant projects within the Republic of Tatarstan. Before each event we take a training course during which we learn both special features of an event and functions necessary for our volunteering activity. Prior to large events we have conflictology, stress-resistance and teamwork classes,” volunteer from Kazan Iskander Mardanov stated.
At the end of the presentation the Kazan 2013 volunteers invited their colleagues to visit the volunteers camp that is scheduled to be held in July 2011 in Kazan.
We would remind you that 5 volunteers from Kazan assist in the organization of the first test event of the 2014 Olympic games in Sochi. The Alpine Ski European Cup is held in Roza Khutor, alpine ski resort that was put into service in Krasnaya Polyana last year.
The first stage of the European Cup ended last week and the Kazan volunteers worked there at a doping control station, chaperoned the teams from Germany, Czech Republic and Italy, participated in the work of the Championship’s press centre.
