KAZAN – A federal media delegation headed by the famous Russian TV presenter and public figure Tina Kandelaki visited Kazan. During their working trip to the capital of Tatarstan the journalists took a tour of the Tennis Academy and the Universiade Village.
Tina Kandelaki and the journalists inspected the Tennis Academy, the unique sports venue of the 2013 Summer Universiade, and admired its top-level equipment and advanced technologies.
The famous TV presenter noted the high speed of construction picked up on the threshold of the 2013 Summer Universiade and the city’s rapid development. Tatarstan’s Minister of Youth Affairs, Sports and Tourism Rafis Burganov and Director General of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate Vladimir Leonov accompanied Tina Kandelaki during her tour and explained the preparation progress of the 27th World University Summer Games in Kazan.
In the Universiade Village the delegates examined living conditions and met with the residents of the unique student campus. Comfortable air-conditioned rooms with Internet access and alarm system pleasantly surprised the media representatives and proved once again that the Universiade Village was the best student campus in Russia.
While on her visit to Kazan Tina Kandelaki met with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Informatisation and Communications of the Republic of Tatarstan Nikolay Nikiforov and Head of the Republican Agency of Press and Mass Communications Marat Muratov.
The delegates visited the Lobachevsky Lyceum of Kazan Federal University, IT-Park where they attended the presentation of the GLONASS+112 global satellite navigation system and learned about Tatarstan’s latest achievements in e-Government and e-Education projects.
