KAZAN – A cooperation agreement between the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate and nine youth organizations of the Republic of Tatarstan was signed solemnly on February 22nd.
The agreement was signed by Tatarstan’s Students League President Timur Suleymanov, Tatarstan’s Creative Youth Academy President and Deputy Chairman of the Youth Public Chamber under the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Karpov, Chairman of the Burevestnik Youth Physical Culture and Sports Society Emir Kharisov, Chairman of United Russia Party’s Young Guard Regional Office Ilya Savelyev, Chairman of Non-Governmental Organization of Tatarstan’s Youth of Industrial Enterprises Vladislav Mayorov, General Producer of the Sozvezdie-Yoldyzlyk Youth Variety Festival Dmitry Tumanov, President of the Miss Tatarstan Non-governmental Organization Izolda Sakharova, Deputy of Tatarstans’s State Council and Deputy Director of the Public Administration of the Youth Centre of the Republic of Tatarstan Anna Zakhmatova, Director of the New Media Youth Information Agency Alsu Saetova. Director General Vladimir Leonov signed the agreement on behalf of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate.
The main purpose of the cooperation is to promote the Universiade and to build its cultural and sports legacy. Notably, the agreement with the New Media Youth Information Agency implies volunteers training for work at the 2013 SU press centers. And the agreement with the Miss Tatarstan Non-governmental Organization will enable to select young men and women for the ceremonies of the World University Summer Games in Kazan.
The agreement stipulates participation of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate in organizing large cultural events such as the Student Spring Festival, Personnel Reserve 2011, Sozvezdie-Yoldyzlyk Youth Variety Festival.
In his welcome speech Vladimir Leonov stressed the importance of cooperation with youth organizations and stated that the 2013 Summer Universiade was not just a two-week long big sporting event but also a huge preparation stage, training of young leaders and talents. “Our key task is to prepare jointly the best University Games ever,” Director General Vladimir Leonov said.
The Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate presented the FISU Flag Relay Project which is scheduled for August-September 2011. During his report Deputy Director General of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate Igor Sivov pointed out that only joint efforts could make the grand project happen. “We want it to be remembered not only in Kazan but all over Russia,” he said.
It stands to mention that apart from youth organizations the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate had already signed cooperation agreements with five Kazan universities and institutes.
