KAZAN – The 11th session of the Joint Intergovernmental Russian-Turkish Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation took place in Kazan on March 4th. The Russian delegation was led by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Igor Sechin.
The plenary session was preceded by the official opening ceremony and saw the participation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Energy and Natural Resources Minister of Turkey Taner Yildiz and other Russian and Turkish officials.
The Russian-Turkish Cooperation Exhibition was held within the framework of the event. It demonstrated major lines of bilateral cooperation. The Exhibition featured the 2013 Summer Universiade stand where the preparation progress report was presented to the Turkish delegates. The report was delivered by Universiade Village Mayor Farid Abdulganiev who elaborated on main stages of preparing for the 27th World University Summer Games in Kazan, including construction progress of the Universiade Village.
We would remind you that these days Tatarstan hosts the 11th session of the Joint Intergovernmental Russian-Turkish Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation. A few meetings of the Commission’s joint working groups took place yesterday. During the sessions the joint working groups examined issues of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. The parties exchanged opinions necessary for further development of cooperation in various fields. Amongst the main topics of discussion were trade relations regulations, international treaty framework improvement, attractive projects for bilateral cooperation in such spheres as power engineering, trade, transport, agriculture, industrial sector, tourism and culture.
The final protocol of the 11th session of the Joint Intergovernmental Russian-Turkish Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was signed the same day.
