TAIPEI CITY – Chaired by the Vice-President of the Chinese Taipei University Sports Federation, Ms. Shih-lin LIN, the organizing committee of 2012 FISU Forum had its second meeting discussing the sports activities and sub-themes on March 15th, 2011 in Taipei. Representatives from concerned National Sports Federations and professors of various universities were invited to this meeting making the outcome very productive.
It was finalized in this meeting that the OC will take Archery into the sports program and Professor Ping-kun CHIU who is also the Secretary-General of the Chinese Taipei Archery Federation and the ex-organizer of the WUC Archery in 1998 and 2008 gave his word to cooperate closely with the OC for any necessary assistance. The University for hosting such sport will be re-evaluated by the secretariat with consideration of safety concerns as well as the facilities of the auditorium and meeting rooms that will be used for the morning sessions on the same day. There will be, of course, more sports provided for participants and the OC will propose them to FISU soon.
For the sub-themes, the outcome was very productive. The topics of gender issue, equality, green sport, international development, volunteering, lifelong wellness and sustainable world were raised and discussed thoroughly after brainstorming. A proposal of the sub themes will be sent to FISU in April after the OC collects all the feedback from the professors by the end of March. It is expected the upcoming EC meeting in May will approve the proposal so the next step of proposing the guest speakers can be followed according to schedule.
