KAZAN – A foreign media delegation arrived with a three-day visit in Kazan on Saturday, March 13. The media representatives examined the 2013 SU preparation progress, met with volunteers and studied the Tatarstan-China cooperation prospects.
At the beginning of their visit to Kazan the delegates met with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Kazan 2013 Director General Vladimir Leonov.
The President elaborated on Tatarstan’s economic climate, education system reforming and prospects for cooperation with China.
On the second day of their trip the foreign media delegates headed to Kazan Federal University, one of the oldest universities of Russia, and met with Kazan 2013 volunteers and KFU students. The foreign media representatives such as Deutschland radio, Eastnews Photo Agency, Chinese Central Television, Xinhua News Agency and China Radio International presented their companies and shared impressions of their trip to Kazan. The purpose of their visit was to get to know one of the most developing regions of Russia.
The Kazan 2013 volunteers reported about sports volunteering that became a widespread phenomenon in Tatarstan in the threshold of preparation for the 2013 Summer Universiade. The students also stated that due to Kazan 2013 volunteering they gained an invaluable experience.
The foreign journalists also visited 2013 SU venues – Tennis Academy, Sankt-Peterburg Volleyball Centre and Burevestnik Indoor Swimming Pool. The delegates toured the Universiade Village, met with its residents and highly appraised the comfortable student campus that has no equals in Russia.
