2013 SU Update: Candidate Pool for Kazan 2013 Organizing Committee

14 June 2011

KAZAN – A solemn opening ceremony of 2011 Personnel Reserve took place on June 9 inKazan. The republican project aimed at training members of administrative staff among socially active youth was initiated by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism of theRepublic ofTatarstan in association with the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate.

160 young citizens of Tatarstan that passed the elimination round (testing and interviewing) were shortlisted for the new season of the project. The successful applicants will have a four-day long introductory course of lectures, workshops, trainings and team-building games. The in-person stage of the competition will end with a special challenge when applicants will elaborate and implement a social project dedicated to Russian Independance Day.

At the opening ceremony of the event that took place in the Ministry of the Interior camp at theMirnyVillagethe project’s organizers also summed up the 2010 Personnel Reserve results. The top 20 young men and women from all over Tatarstan were selected based on the results of four in absentia and in-person education competitions. At present they are having an internship in six Republican ministries and are implementing their projects in this or that field of state activity.

It stands to note that the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate is one of the most enthusiastic partners of the Personnel Reserve project. It is no surprise since participants of the 2009 and 2010 editions of Personnel Reserve demonstrated a vivid interest towards development and implementation of the projects designed to promote the brand of the Universiade, introduce creative marketing solutions, efficient operation of sports venues, and also encourage people to live a healthy way of life. Most of them were awarded a chance to implement their ideas. Last year seven successful applicants took a two-month internship at various departments of the Universiade Directorate. Two of them – Dinara Ibragimova and Kamilya Arslanova – were accepted for employment afterwards.

«As a dynamically developing region, our republic specially needs a skilled pool of talented professionals able to take non-routine decisions, find efficient solutions to even the most complex problems, remain steady-going even in times of ups and downs, to strain after self-perfection», Larisa Sulima, Advisor to the Director General and Chief of Staff of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate, said. «These are qualities typical for the successful applicants of the Personnel Reserve project. Thus, the project became a useful instrument for both young specialists that opened up possibilities for career progress and employers, state bodies that are interested in recruiting best personnel. I’m positive that finalists and participants of the project will become the team that will be entitled to organize and stage the best Universiade ever.»
