2011 SU Update: Team Canada partners with SendtoNews

26 July 2011

OTTAWA – Canadian Interuniversity Sport is pleased to announce a partnership with newsroom content delivery service SendtoNews for the 2011 Summer Universiade set to take place from August 12-23 in Shenzhen, China.

In order to better serve local, regional and national television and radio stations, newspapers and online newsrooms, Team Canada’s media relations team will upload video content – including interviews and highlights – and photos on a daily basis to the SendtoNews system that will automatically convert the content for easy use by newsrooms.

SendtoNews powered the state-of-the-art media distribution system used by more than 1,450 reporters at the British Columbia International Media Centre (BCMC) during the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. Swimming Canada, Diving Canada, Water Polo Canada and Synchro Canada are currently reporting via the SendtoNews platform from the 2011 FINA world championships in Shanghai, China (July 16-31).

Canada is sending a delegation of close to 350 to the 26th Summer Universiade including 250 student-athletes who will compete in 17 sports.

To access the Team Canada videos and photos as a content receiver, newsrooms that do not already have a SendtoNews account must register for a FREE account at .
