KAZAN – The online application for the Kazan 2013 volunteer selection program was launched on .
Now everyone willing to become part of a grand event, to obtain huge experience of being a volunteer at one of the largest international events, to get to know the world’s elite athletes and to make friends with many young, active and energetic like-minded people, can submit an online application to become a volunteer for the 27th Summer Universiade in Kazan. The application is available on , the official web page of the 2013 Summer Universiade.
The main criteria for choosing a Kazan 2013 volunteer are a good command of English, computer skills and ability to work in a team. But above all, a Kazan 2013 volunteer must have an active social life and readiness to leave a mark in history of university sports.
500 young volunteers aged 18-30 from 48 federal regions of Russia and countries abroad that gathered in Kazan to take part in the Volunteer’s Academy International Youth Volunteer Camp became the first to submit an online application for the Kazan 2013 volunteer selection program. Among officials that attended the volunteer camp’s opening ceremony were Prime Minister of theRepublicofTatarstan Ildar Khalikov, 1st Vice President of FISU Oleg Matytsin, Universiade Village Mayor Farid Abdulganiev and others. The FISU Flag was solemnly hoisted by Alexander Velikanov, a champion of the 2011 Summer Universiade in Shenzhen.
In his welcome speech Ildar Khalikov stressed the significance of Volunteer’s Academy in Kazan 2013 volunteer training. The Prime Minister wished all participants success in their volunteer activities and announced the start of the online application for the Kazan 2013 volunteer selection program.
«The launch of the volunteer selection program marks the start of a two-year long trip to the 2013 Summer Universiade,» Liliya Barieva, Director of the Volunteer Department of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate, said in her welcome speech to the participants of Volunteer’s Academy. «Further on we are going to start interviewing candidates and launch the Kazan 2013 volunteer training program. We hope that shortlisted applicants will succeed to find a volunteer position they are best interested in, gain a necessary experience and become part of the 2013 Summer Universiade.»
The motto ‘Make U Real’ reflects the importance attached to each volunteer’s involvement in delivering a large-scale sporting event and those possibilities that are opened up for enthusiasts. ‘Make U Real’ means that the 2013 Summer Universiade is a joint project the successful implementation of which depends on a well-coordinated work of the team.
To make the Universiade happen, to be in the centre of events, to make the difference – these are the main rules of Volunteers’ Academy.
A foot-tapping gig delivered by the famousKazanband Volga-Volga ended the solemn festivities, and participants of Volunteers’ Academy danced to their music despite a cold autumn night that quickly fell.
