2013 SU Update: Ak Bars Bank becomes General Partner for Kazan 2013 University Games

KAZAN – Under the partnership agreement signed with the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate, Ak Bars Bank, the largest bank of Tatarstan, will be both providing financial support in the preparations and staging of the 27th Summer Universiade inKazan and developing modern banking infrastructure.

Such statement was made by Deputy Director General of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate Igor Sivov and Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Ak Bars Bank Radik Salyakhutdinov at the press conference dedicated to the signing of a partnership agreement between Ak Bars Bank and Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate. «When choosing a General Partner in the banking sector, we took into consideration not just possibilities for co-financing events held in the preparations for the Kazan 2013 University Games, but also our potential partner’s intention to develop the infrastructure that will become the Universiade legacy and will serve Tatarstan citizens even after the Games end,» Igor Sivov admitted.

Being the General Partner for the 2013 Summer Universiade, Official Bank and Official Banking Service Provider for the Games, Ak Bars Bank plans to increase the number of ATMs and payment terminals that are expected to be installed in sports venues of the Games. In addition to that, a series of commemorative coins will be produced on the threshold of the Games 2013 and special Kazan 2013-logoed multiservice cards will be issued to offer participants, visitors and volunteers of the Games numerous discounts inKazan, apart from serving as a payment method.
