TRENTINO – After visiting the competition venues and facilities offered by the city of Trento, theFISU delegation, chaired by Vice-President Leonz Eder, continued its inspection tour.
The delegation has had the chance to glance on Trentino from a bird’s eye view, with a helicopter overflying the Dolomites. The four FISU representatives have been taken to the competition venues in Baselga di Pinè, where they have visited the Palaghiaccio and the Ice rink, and afterwards to Cavalese, in Val di Fiemme, for the presentation of the Ski World Championship which will take place there in 2013.
After the visit of the nearby Tesero Lake Cross-country Center and of the Ski Jumping Center in Predazzo, the delegation has moved to Val di Fassa to visit the “Aloch” Alpine ski slope in Pozza di Fassa, last venue of the tour before leaving Trentino.
At the end of the evaluation visit in Trentino, Evaluation Committee Chair Leonz Eder expressed the great satisfaction of the evaluation committee about the program of the three days, prepared by the candidate city. “You have not only offered to us a fantastic hospitality. You have shown to us the high level of cooperation between all kind of political, academic and sports authorities in the different cities and communities which are involved in the bid of Trentino,” he said. “The legacy of your candidacy is outstanding, and my team is very much impressed by the enthusiasm and teamspirit which stands behind your project,”FISUVice-President Leonz Eder added.
