GENEVA – On October 20th, FISU World University Championships department met with the Basketball 3×3 department of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).
Kosta ILIEV, FIBA 3×3 Director, Alex SANCHEZ, FIBA 3×3 Business Director and Michael NAVERSNIK, FIBA 3×3 Sport & Business Development met with Laurent BRIEL, Director for theFISUWorld University Championships, Paulo FERREIRA,FISUExecutive Assistant and Julien BUHAJEZUK, WUC sport Assistant.
This meeting was an opportunity for both FISUand FIBA to discuss the upcoming 1st World University Basketball 3×3 Championship to be organized in Kragujevac (SRB) from July 10th to 17th, 2012.
The cooperation between the two federations has always been good, and working hand in hand for the development of this new discipline is a very positive and interesting challenge for both federations.
Indeed the very fruitful meeting emphasized that the first edition of any event is always especially important and that the collaboration had to be as close as possible in order to ensure a brilliant future for this new discipline within the FISU program and FIBA competitions.
There is less than a year to go before the 1st World University Basketball 3×3 Championship will be held and the official invitations have already been sent to the FISU members.
