ALMATY – On January 13th at 18:30 in the press center of the Central Stadium a training session was held for the WU volunteers, dedicated to the Bandy World Championship which will be hosted in Almaty from 29 January to 5 February 2012.
About 200 2017 WU volunteers will take part in the organization of the championship. Volunteers will work in such areas as transportation, maintenance teams, food, logistics, accreditation, and media activities at the press center.
“Participation in major sporting events as a volunteer allows young people to achieve their potential: to see inside the world of sport, meet famous athletes, earn business and personal contacts in the world of professional sports, take part in organizing the significant events in the history of our country”, says Almagul Kassymova, a representative of the Organizing Committee of the 2017 Winter Universiade.
The 2017 WU Organizing Committee aims to build an active, educated and diverse youth volunteer force which will be a human legacy of the 2017 Winter Universiade.
