BRUSSELS – The 3rd edition of the Online World University Team Bridge Championships organized by FISU and WBF are a huge success. No less than 61 university bridge teams representing 327 athletes from around the world have entered this competition.
As a result, this competition is the biggest World Championships competition in any FISU sport in FISU history and the biggest youth competition for bridge in WBF history. This enormous success shows that university bridge is alive worldwide.
The competition starts in January and will last until July 2012, and if everything goes as expected the final will be played during the 6th FISU World University Bridge Championship inReims. In January and February 2012, the 61 teams play in pools from which all 2 first ranked and best 3rd ranked will select 32 teams to start a knock out competition afterwards to end with the final in July 2012.
