TAIPEI CITY – The delegation of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate travelled to Taipei City, the host city of the 2017 Summer Universiade, to participate in the 11th FISU Forum organized by the Chinese Taipei University Sports Federation (CTUSF) which runs from March 26th to 31st.
Representatives of more than 60 countries of the world assembled inTaipei, Chinese Taipei, to explore key issues within the university sports development. The forum officially opened today, Monday, March 26, however, on Sunday, the day before the forum, the Russian delegation composed of 1st Deputy Director General of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate Azat Kadyrov, Director of the FISU International Education Centre (FISU IEC) Liliya Barieva, Director of the Department of Information and Publications of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate Aidar Galeev and expert of Russia’s Ministry of Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy Elmira Ableeva attended the meeting led by the FISU First Assessor and Chair of the FISU Educational Services Committee (CESU) Ms Alison Odell (GBR).
The CESU meeting heard the presentation of the FISU IEC project and plans for its development. A concept of the 2013 FISU Conference which is scheduled to be held at Games time in the Universiade Village’s International Information Centre under the working theme ‘University Sports and Olympic Sports: Two Models – One Goal?’ was submitted to the committee for approval.
The concept introduces key sub-themes of the forthcoming FISU Conference and information on prospective speakers. The FISU Educational Services Committee approved the presented concept. According to the FISU Regulations, CESU will draft a list of recommendations regarding the conference in Kazan and will forward it for consideration by the FISU Executive Committee. After the 2013 FISU Conference concept is approved by the FISU EC, the organizing committee will begin sending newsletters to potential participants.
The 2013 FISU Conference Hosting Contract is due to be signed at the FISU Executive Committee Meeting that will take place in Kazan in May 2012.
Later on, the Kazan 2013 delegation attended the 2017 Taipei Universiade Hosting Contract Signing Ceremony that saw the presence of FISU President Claude-Louis Gallien, Secretary General Eric Saintrond, President of Chinese Taipei Ma Ying-Jeou, Mayor of Taipei City Hau Lung-Bin.
