POCHEON – The first delegations have started to arrive in Pocheon, South Korea for the 12th World University Taekwondo Championship. The event that will take place from 25th to 30th May is the second-last edition of the sport in this format – as of 2015, Taekwondo will officially be a compulsory sport of the FISU Summer Universiade.
The Organising Committee is working hard to finalise preparations to receive an expected record attendance of over 500 participants. So far, 120 registrations have been confirmed in representation of 10 countries.
According to the FISU regulation, each country may register a maximum eight male and eight female competitors for Kyorugi competition. Similarly, the Poomsae competition allows for a maximum of five male and five female competitors.
The General Technical meeting is scheduled for today (24th May) and he competition start and Opening Ceremony are planned for Friday (25th May).
