Up to 500 Applicants successfully pass Kazan 2013 Volunteer Interviews

26 June 2012

KAZAN One month ago, on May 18th, the Kazan 2013 Volunteer Recruitment Centre was solemnly opened in the new building of the Ekiyat Puppet Theatre. This is the place where volunteer applicants will be interviewed for volunteer roles throughout the entire year. 500 hopefuls successfully passed the interview stage during the first month of the centre’s existence.

According to experts of the Volunteer Department of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate, the most preferred volunteer areas are sport management, media, accreditation and attachés. The recruiters also noted that most candidates proved to be highly motivated and showcased good managerial abilities, for this reason most of them were assigned the roles of coordinators and team leaders.

Interviews take place in four zones of the centre and are held by highly qualified volunteer recruiters who check the candidates’ motivation and compliance with the requirements for the volunteer position they’ve chosen.

There are elderly people in the team of volunteer recruiters; together with students and schoolchildren they are helping to choose the most capable and committed volunteers for Kazan 2013. Last week they completed their training and embarked on their mission with much enthusiasm. Every day they increase the sum of their knowledge and computer skills, processing hundreds of volunteer applications.

Alexander Karpov, Director of the Volunteer Department of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate, commented: “Every day the centre is picking up pace; despite the examination period and summer break, volunteer recruiters hold interviews with 40-45 candidates on a daily basis and soon this number will reach 100 candidates per day.”

We remind that 20,000 volunteers are needed to make the Kazan 2013 Summer Universiade a reality. All candidates need to do is to register at , fill out an online application form, attend an interview at the Volunteer Recruitment Centre and, if successful, go through a series of training courses.
