GWANGJU – The 1st CTI inspection visit of the sports venues of the 2015 Summer Universiade has continued in Gwangju. The 3rd group of eight sports, led by Marc Vandenplas, Director of Summer Universiade and John Warnock, SU CTI Chair had their 2nd day visit on a number of training and competition venues in athletics, baseball, basketball, judo, tennis, volleyball, water polo and swimming. On December 5th the first day of the inspection, CTI group attended a session for OC’s presentation of the preparatory work on sports and sports venues. The 3rd group visit will continue till December 8th.
CTI groups have been consulting OC on competition and training programs, sport equipment, venues operations and other supporting areas, establishing direct communication channels between CTI and OC and checking key milestones for the coming months.
From November 27th to 29th, the 1st group finished inspection on sports and sports venues for Artistic gymnastics, badminton, diving, handball, rowing and table tennis. The 2nd group from December 1st to 3rd inspected on seven sports including archery, fencing, football, golf, rhythmic gymnastics, shooting sport and taekwondo. All CTI groups were warmly welcomed by the Gwangju Organizing Committee.
