KAZAN – Recently, the Kazan 2013 Executive Committee announced the start of the Observer Kazan 2013 Programme registration for the organising committees of future Universiades.
The registration to the programme will be open until 1 March 2013. By that time host cities of future Universiades can use the unique opportunity to join the programme and get inspired by the atmosphere of the Games before they stage the competitions on home soil.
The main idea of the Observer Programme is to enhance the OC members’ functional knowledge in order to put it to good use in planning, preparing and managing the future Universiades. The Observer is a good foundation for cooperation. The organising committees will have a chance to get to know each other better and obtain first-hand information.
During the Observer Programme, each future Organising Committee will not only witness how things are done, but also study specific areas, so that they can learn and improve upon these within their own organisational and cultural context.
FISU Summer Universiade Director Marc Vandenplas comments on the programme: “Although multi-sport events Organising Committees are working in different cultural and political environments, all of them have to face similar difficulties and challenges. The Observer Programme set up jointly by the Kazan OC, FISU and FISU IEC will answer most of the questions addressed by future organisers and help them to benefit from previous experiences. Transfer of knowledge is the backbone of future success.”
