CRANS-MONTANA – The Organizing Committee of the 15th World University Golf Championship 2014 held a plenary meeting on February 1st, in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. The President of the OC, Pierre Bruchez, welcomed more than 15 members of his committee and subcommittees and especially Mr Eric Kamerzin, Chairman of the Association for the Organization of International Sport Events on the Haut-Plateau of Crans-Montana’ (A.M.I.S.), Mr Olivier Brunisholz, former President of the OC of the 1996 WUC Golf in Bonmont/Lausanne and FISU Vice-President Leonz Eder, also liaison officer to FISU and FSSU in the OC 2014.

Mr Guy Praplan, Secretary-General of the OC, gave an overview about the general administration of the event, explained the logistic planning, the means of transportation and some aspects of security during the event. The official airport will be Geneva. All the participants will be accommodated in the International School of Hotel Management “Les Roches” in Bluche where also the Opening Ceremony will be held. Mrs Manuela Ducrest presented the overall budget, while Mr Yves Rey showed the logo and the website of the championship. Mr Guy Praplan reported from his visits at the 2010 WUC Golf in Antequera and 2012 in Liberec. The 2014 WUC Golf will start with the arrivals of the first teams on June 21st. The competition dates are fixed from June 24th to 27th and the departures on June 28th. The inspection visit of a FISU Staff member from the WUC Department and Ray Robinson, FISU Technical Delegate for Golf, will be held from September 3rd to 6th, 2013, during the famous OMEGA European Masters.
