Former FISU Technical Chair for Tennis Jean Brechbühl at his 100th birthday on 18 June, 2013
LAUSANNE – Today, 18 June, Former FISU Technical Chair for Tennis Jean Brechbühl turns 100 today! Swiss Jean Brechbühl was born on 18 June 1913 and became an excellent tennis player. He also authored several well known books about his sport.
After his tennis career, he became the director of Geneva’s University Sport a position of which he retired in 1978.
The young Jean Brechbühl as a ski instructorFrom 1959 to 1991 Jean was the FISU Technical Chair for Tennis, supervising the sport at the Summer Universiades.
He is an Honorary Member of the Swiss University Sport Federation, of the Swiss Tennis Federation, and since 1991 of FISU.
He trained and worked with Renée Colliard, former University Sport World Champion in Slalom and in 1956 Olympic Champion in Slalom in Cortina d’Ampezzo. He also worked with Ion Tiriac, the Romanian tennis Champion.
