KAZAN – With 46 days to go before the Summer Universiade in Kazan kicks off, FISU is paying its last inspection visit before the big FISU Family delegation arriving in the city for the Universiade on June 24th 2013.
Summer Universiade Director Marc Vandenplas, together with Summer Universiade Manager Jing Zhao arrived in Kazan on May 20th to start their last inspection visit for the event. The Protocol Team led by Kole Gjeloshaj, Education Services Director, and the Administration Team, led by the Administration Director Hedwige Hankart, arrived on May 21st and 22nd to have separate meetings with the Organising Committee on protocol matters, administrative preparation, as well as the hospitality services for the FISU Family and Guests. Very intensive meetings and inspection schedules have been set up for the three groups in order to have a close follow-up of all relevant matters.
From a technical side, series of test events will be held in the coming days at the Universiade venues, including the 2013 FINA Diving Grand Prix, the 2013 Volga Federal District University Football Championship, the Russian Championship of Weightlifting, the Russian Junior Athletics Championship, the Russian Youth Volleyball Cup Final, the Spring Dripping Water All-Russian Junior Fencing Tournament, the Tatarstan Badminton Championship Final, etc. The Organising Committee will take the opportunities to test not only the venues, but also the full services for the Summer Universiade. The FISU Technical Delegates of the respective sports will also attend these events to supervise the competition management.
The Organising Committee is now at the last step to be ready for the Universiade, and is speeding up in all its functional areas preparation as well as the venue construction. In order to facilitate the communication and cooperation, FISU has guaranteed the daily presence of the FISU Staff in Kazan from now on until the Closing Ceremony of the Universiade.
