KAZAN – Over the course of the 2013 Summer Universiade, several heads of the volunteers’ programmes of upcoming Universiades have met in Kazan to set objectives and share advances.
Last Wednesday, volunteers and members of the Organizing Committees of futures Universiades took part in a seminar framing in the Observer Programme. Delegations from the Granada 2015 Winter Universiade, the Gwangju 2015 Summer Universiade, the Taipei 2017 Summer Universiade and the Almaty 2017 Winter Universiade had a meeting to discuss about how to plan and manage a volunteer programme, exposing the news and progresses of their respective plans.
Two days later, on Friday, the National Cultural Centre, in Kazan, held a press conference where Alexander Karpov and Tatiana Nikulina, from Kazan 2013, Alberto Casado, from Granada 2015 and Damir Stajner, from Belgrade 2009 discussed the volunteer programme in Kazan. They also approached to other topics, as the International Volunteers or the differences and similarities between the different organizations to address the issue of volunteers.
Outside the official schedule, the heads have had the opportunity to debate about their initiatives in informal meetings.
