LAUSANNE – The World University Championships department has continued its series of work meetings with FISU partner International Federations. Last week the WUC delegates were joined by their Winter Universiade counterparts Milan Augustin (Director) and Jiho Kim (Executive Assistant) when convening with the International Ski Federation (FIS).
Sarah Lewis (FIS Secretary General) was welcomed at the FISU headquarters in Lausanne to review the collaboration agreement being setup between the two parties. The main focus was on the Championship sport of Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined that is now on the WUC programme and will have its initial edition in 2016.
Later in the week, the WUC Department – represented by Paulo Ferreira (Director), Julien Buhajezuk (Executive Assistant) – visited the International Triathlon Union (ITU) also based in the Maison du Sport International.
Thanos Nikopoulos (Technical Operations Senior Manager) and Johanne Suss-Burckel (Sport Administration Coordinator) received the Championships representatives to the ITU with an agenda addressing the FISU-ITU collaboration agreement and also the upcoming World University Triathlon Championship that will take place in Wellington (New Zealand) on March 8, 2014.
Regulation updates, international technical official’s appointments and various other topics were covered in this work session that has tightened the good operational level relations between these two federations.
