BRASILIA – On 28 November, in Brasília (Brazil), members of the Brazilian University Sport Association (CBDU), headed by their president, Luciano Cabral, met with the Brazilian Sport Minister Aldo Rebelo and the National Sport Secretary Ricardo Cappelli to discuss the plans and support from the Federal Government on the organization of the 30th Summer Universiade, in 2019, to be held in Brasília.
“We explained to the minister the process of the Brasilia Universiade project and also gave an updated report of all the work and plans that have been done by CBDU, since the attribution to Brasilia as the event host city”, Luciano Cabral said. “We need to establish the next steps and deadlines to be accomplished with the guidance and evaluation of the Ministry of Sport. CBDU has also been in contact with the District Federal Governor Agnelo Queiroz, to discuss the support for the games.”

During the meeting, a dossier, with photos and information about the Brazilian delegation participation in the Kazan Summer Universiade last July was presented to the minister. For the 30th edition of the Summer Universiade in Brasília, more than 10,000 participants (women and men) from more than 150 countries are expected to compete in 18 different sports.
On 8 December, delegates of the Brasilia 2019 Universiade OC will make a presentation about Brasília as Universiade host city to the FISU Executive Committee at its meeting in Trento (Italy), a few days prior to the 26th Winter Universiade in Trentino (11 to 21 December).
